Petition Letter: The 2019 Fall term contains the course I want to appeal because of psychological hardships that I was being treated for. These problems, combined with medication changes in treatment caused a significant drop in my academic performance. I was in the process of receiving an accommodation at that time, but it did not come through in time for that term. The following term my circumstances continued and all of my effort had to go into just trying to finish the school year. In March of 2020, the Corona virus ended the year abruptly, and ever since, we have been navigating a pandemic and online school, which was an overwhelming process on its own and I did not feel like I was mentally able to handle the appeal process. Because of these circumstances that were out of my control, I would like to waive the one term deadline and be allowed to appeal my course. Thank you for your consideration.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY STUDENT ON AUGUST 15/21:
This course was impacted the most out of my courses because it involved learning a new instrument, which was a feat that proved too difficult while going through my circumstances. The rest of my courses were mandatory for my program and acted as prerequisites for future courses I needed, so I focused what little energy I had on completing those classes as to not slow my academic progress. The rest of my courses were also impacted by my circumstances because I did not perform to my usual standards, however, I was able to complete them and earn the credits.
