Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Academic),
I hope this e-mail finds you well. I will be a fourth year undergraduate student in the Fall 2021 term. I major in the Linguistics (Honors) Plan. I want to appeal to take three 100/200-level courses on ILOP for the Fall 2021 term. I have already submitted my ILOP for taking two 100/200-level courses without attaching my appeal since it is 6.0 units taken on ILOP, so the system did not show that step. I have contacted the ILOP office and they said I have to complete the appeal process.
I am an international student and due to the pandemic, I have travelled back to my home country (China) last year. I am still in China and plan to stay in China for the Fall 2021 term. There are several reasons to why I decided to continue studying remotely for the Fall 2021 term. First, the covid situation in China become more severe due to the new delta variant, and due to this, the airlines have reduced and thus it is more difficult to buy an airplane ticket at this time. Second, I am a fourth-year student and I have completed all of my core courses, with only two more option courses to go to complete my major plan, and the rest of my courses are all electives. Due to this, and due to the limit number of courses offered remotely for the Fall 2021 term, I think it will be a good choice to take two to three courses on ILOP (all these courses are not offered remotely at Queen's).
The three courses I am planning to take on ILOP are:
JAPN 101 and JAPN 102 (equivalent to JAPN 100 and JAPN 200 at Queen's)
ART 105 (equivalent to FILM 104 at Queen's )
These courses are offered by Shanghai Jiao Tong University
