Petition Letter: I have always struggled with mental health, but I finally hit a good streak and decided to catch up on credits over the summer. Gradually, the stress of ECON 111 and family conflicts worsened my mental health. It has impacted my ability and motivation to study, which affected ECON 111 the most as I had no prior knowledge and everything was new. I just got back the latest assignment, and the mark showed me that I am not fully comprehending the course material. As the final exam makes up 60% of the final mark, it has worsened my mental health when I attempt to study or think about the course. I am currently managing my symptoms with medications and follow-ups with my family doctor. I do not expect my academic performance to be impacted during the upcoming school year as I selected my courses carefully. They are all subjects I am familiar with so that it can be a safeguard if my mental health declines again.
