Petition Letter

Petition Letter: My goal was never to be disrespected to the teaching staff of ARTH 212 during the 2020 fall semester.

ARTH 212

I??m not sure, if due to COVID the deadline has changed for instructors' decisions on grading of final examinations and/or term work- only because I recently found out that this was possible through the Office of the Associate Dean through my Queen??s wellness counselor. I would like to say, after receiving my final grade I did contact the two TA??s for ARTH 212 during fall 2020, however never heard back from them. I also was in constant contact (asking for additional feedback and what I can do to improve my mark- tips I felt I followed), with the two TA??s partially because Prof. Reeve told us not to contact him but instead the TAs. Professor. Reeve??s blatant decision not to have students contact him, made it difficult for me to pass messages (such as needing help) since I had to rely on the TAs to share my message even when personal. I have included a screen shot, from our email conversation. If possible, I am asking for my first test, essay critique, and overall mark to be re-evaluated. I believe I fully answered the question, on the first test and was marked harshly for a survey course. And to be honest, I believe that my first quiz was my best quiz since I referenced both lecture notes as well as the readings- unlike in my two other quizzes which I received both higher marks than my first quiz. Based off how the essay critique was outlined; I believe the essay was asking our individual opinion and asked for us to answer the question. I completely understand if you agree with marks given by the TA??s and Professor. Reeves, if possible, may I have my mark rounded up 0.4%? My final mark for ARTH 212 is currently 69.6, I received a 64% on my 1st quiz, 72% on my 2nd quiz, and 76% on my 3rd and last quiz (each quiz was worth 20%). And for the essay critique that was worth 40%, I received 68%.

ARTH 391
My second request if for ARTH 391 which I took during the winter of 2021. I have no issues with the marks that I was given for the assignments that I completed, instead I??m interested in dropping the course after the drop date, and if that??s not allowed having an extension on my incomplete. The reason why I have the IN, was during the midpoint of the winter semester, my ongoing health issues went from manageable to unmanageable. And unfortunately, during from that time until the June, basic task such as schoolwork felt and seemed impossible. Luckily, I was in contact with Queen??s wellness which provided me with a letter as well with my professors (including the professor for ARTH 391). The reason why I would prefer to drop the course, then receive an extension on the course if during my inability to complete schoolwork due to health problems I wasn??t taking notes, and after a certain period the lectures disappeared therefore, I had no access to the course material to complete assignments.
