Petition Letter

Petition Letter: For this course in particular, I saw that the outline was imbalanced and with it being a music course that I supposedly used my creativity, felt that my marks were downgraded. I happened to have issues with submission of a quiz that was still not resolved after contacting the IT. I realized the day of submitting my final exam (assignment based), I had the same issue. The exam itself was due at 2pm which the same day I was also getting my vaccine at 12:40pm that gave me unpleasant symptoms. I still tried my best to function and submit this final exam before 2pm but was not able to make the submission as with the submission not working. I then reached out to the professor asking if I can submit via email and if that would be allowed. I explained my situation about the vaccine too but it seems that the professor was not willing to understand me. Robb then directed me to academic consideration that was not helpful. I feel the fair way to approach this is to obtain a CR standing in this course. This can be followed by getting the final exam marked and at that point I would transition into the CR standing. With the understanding of how that day went and coming off acute anxiety symptoms, this has been a stagnant process for me when the professor chose not to understand.

Appeal Letter

Appeal Letter: Hello,

This is in regards to MUSC 171 which I must say it initially is a music course that the professor lacked throughout the course of due dates and random unexpected changes. In specific, most of the course, for any assignment, we were given until end of term to hand it in. I felt much downgraded throughout the course and simply took this to get a feel of a music course. It appears that the final assignment exam was not being marked and the professor continued to aggressively deny the marking. He failed to understand which he clearly knows of and how I had issues with accessing a quiz before. I lost marks there and nothing was dealt with, as IT opened the quiz up for me again but I literally did not see the start quiz now button. I sent screenshots to IT of that and got no response. I moved past that hoping for a response as this was all mid-June. On June 25th at 12:40pm, I was given the appointment for the vaccination and considering I am in Brampton, it was either then or wait nearly a month. I already had family impacted by COVID and having immune system issues in the past, was giving this immediate attention. I realized that not only was the final exam assignment due at 2pm for some reason than 11:59pm, It took much longer than expected at the vaccine site and with the symptoms I began facing. I felt this was totally normal to stay calm and email the professor on the same day. I requested if I could email it to him and explained my situation. He failed to understand and was confused about things and sent me to academic consideration. The entire time, with already what went on in my family, the importance of a vaccine and considering how my body is, I felt the disrespect over the harsh responses. The professor and as it is currently seems to ignore vaccines and even when a student like me get's stuck to access a quiz. I applied for CR in hopes that someone could at least mark the assignment exam and so that this does not impact me and I can move past the course. It turns out no one is willing to mark or understand the concern but will just shift me from one department to the other with constant changes/ uncertainty. I now if that is still not an option, am hoping that something that as Jill stated, my mastery in a course, it is definitely not something I worked entirely for as the only 10 pages which didn't get marked, the rest was just having issues finding the drum or guitar person of a song, leaving it as is unless I randomly created names which those assignments got low grades. I then thought of preceding with an AER that since no one is marking or understanding, that to remove the quiz that wasn't submitted and the final exam assignment and that will allow me to pass the course.
