Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am a Chinese Asian international student. I stayed in Kingston during last academic year, suffered from depression and anxiety, the second time. I got it for the first time during my first year in Queens, due to my grandfather's death and other stresses.

I got it again in February. Understanding the results of failing courses, I did not want to give up so easily. However, a fever and the depression kept hitting on me, made me only capable of studying intermittently. I was often unable to focus on works, feeling sluggish and sometimes world-weary. I only managed to finish parts of all assignments and tests.

After talking with advisors,a CR grade seem to be a choice. I may drop some of the failed courses and retake them in the Fall term 2021. If not, my family's economic conditions will not support me finishing the undergraduate study otherwise.

I have also faced the trouble of not getting a program plan due to the GPA influenced by these courses, which blocked me from enrolling in Fall term courses. I wonder if that could be lifted here.
