Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I have a pre-existing mental health disorder from childhood and have been in therapy and counselling my entire life. In first year this condition was exacerbated and I sought medical advice and eventually QSAS Accommodations because of the affect it was having on my academic performance.

When the pandemic started all of my housemates left to live with family which left me isolated in Kingston for a year. The isolation exacerbated my condition and I also developed an eating disorder that had a negative impact on my ability to academically perform.

In the spring, my sister bought a house and I was able to move in with her over the summer. I was still in no place to complete any academics due to my condition and since then I've been working to rehabilitate and put support structures in place for this next term, as well as working full time to financially support my studies.

My professor and accessibility advisor also support me and my appeal to extend this incomplete.
