Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I was diagnosed with depression in Dec. 2020. Since then, I lose my concentration sometimes. I had a severe car crash on June 30, 2021. I was in a comatose state till July 1. I was so lucky; the accident only makes my right leg fractured and headache sometimes.
I have been actively cooperating with treatment during hospitalization for the last two months and did not follow up on any academic things during that time. Right now, I feel good and conscious to connect with the school to deal with my academic things.
During my tough time, I keep in touch with the ECON 223 professor and the academic consideration office, trying to find the appropriate approach towards academic success. I??m very grateful for their supports and understands. As my condition worsens, my doctor, the professor, and the QSAS advisor advise me to appeal a late drop for this course. I also think it is good for me to take a half-year break; therefore, I also need to apply for a suspension half year for the coming academic year.
