I would like to request credit (CR) standing for two courses, STAT473 and BIOM300 in the 2021 winter term. I received C for both courses and would like to petition to reduce its impact on my overall GPA by using credit grading. In Winter 2021, during the pandemic online courses period, I experienced severe mental health issues and was unable to focus on studying due to insomnia and anxiety. Without enough sleep, I start to grow symptoms of headache and was not able to perform at my best during academic studies. I sought medical assistance and was diagnosed with anxiety. Attached is my doctor's note with diagnosis, treatment plan, and suggestions for resting and avoidance of stress. After adjusting my mental health status, taking medication, and adopting the suggestion from the doctor, I started to recover, as can be seen in my rising grades on my transcript. Therefore, I believe that the two C on my transcript is not a complete representation of my academic performance. Since they will significantly influence my graduate school application, I sincerely hope that I can get those two C changed into CR.
