Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am applying to take these courses (Phil 111,RELS 131,DRAM 100) late as I was erroneously awaiting a decision on an appeal to lift academic probation before I could take courses. I was informed today (2021/09/22) that I was unable to take courses on Solus due to the fact that I needed to fill out a Return to Studies form. I have filled it out and sent it to Arts and Science Registration. To be clear, I had received notice last year that I was on probation, however it may have only been OSAP, I am not sure. The probation was due to extenuating circumstances which are detailed in my previous appeal. I believe that because I am taking a total course load of just the three aforementioned courses that I will be able to catch up. I have included an outline of my rough plan for academics this year, and for the following years moving forward.

Thanks,
Caleb Asselstine

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have decided to take PHIL111, DRAM 100, and RELS 131 for the Fall/Winter term. This would mostly help with electives, and in the winter (after I have a semester under my belt) I will take a high school calc/algebra course to re-familiarize myself with the subject so that I can take MATH 110 in the summer. I will also try to do CISC 121, and additionally a third course, in one of the potential electives I have outlined. If these should go well and I enjoy them I plan to switch to a computing major. If not, I will continue with Philosophy. I attached my plan separately as the formatting wasn't working on this portal.
