Petition Letter: I have been granted permission to enrol in the GNDS125 course by the professor of the course, and the head of the Gender Studies department. The professor has confirmed that there are open spots and she has offered me help in completing the course material which has been missed. documentation of this included

My current program plan is a BA general in Global Development Studies. I am currently enrolled in Anatomy of the Human Body (ANAT100), and as the course has progressed over the past two weeks, I have come to the conclusion that I am not interested in and do not see value in continuing to learn about anatomy. I do not believe that the course will benefit me in my current studies in Global Development Studies, and I am requesting to add a late course, this being GNDS125. I believe that taking GNDS125 Gender, Race and Popular Culture will benefit me in understanding more concepts surrounding those in global development and global engagement.
I am currently completing my final year in my program at Queens University, and I want to ensure that the courses I am enrolled in are beneficial to my learning. Being that ANAT100 is an elective, I do not want this course to generate large amounts of stress during my fall academic term, as I find it extremely difficult to learn and understand concepts which I am not interested in. My focus this term is in my Global Development courses which I am enrolled. Trying to receive high marks in ANAT100 will contribute to adding more stress and anxiety throughout this term. Enrolling in GNDS125 would be more beneficial for me as the course has similar aspects of global development and global engagement which is interesting to me and I feel as though it will contribute towards further understanding of the Global Development Studies program, and provide less anxiety as I will be more inclined and intrigued to learn the course material in GNDS125.
