Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop CHEM285 after the deadline as I was unable to take this course over the summer. I attempted to drop this course within the deadline, but due to a sanction block on my SOLUS account I was unaware that the course drop was unsuccessful. I was unaware of this issue until after the deadline to which I attempted to contact Arts and Science faculty in order to drop the course. I was instructed by the SOLUS team, and the BHSc faculty to contact Arts and Science by email or phone number which I attempted to do countless times over the period of early August to present day and was unsuccessful in receiving any sort of response.
I wanted to drop this course as I was already enrolled in 2 summer courses this term as well as I was working 2 jobs, full time. Due to the block on my account, SOLUS team advised me that I had to pay for the course in order to remove the block and enrol in fall courses. I was advised by SOLUS team that I would be able to appeal to have the course removed to avoid academic and financial penalty.
I have sent countless emails and phone calls to which have been unsuccessful in getting a response and now I have been advised by Mr. Chris DeWolfe to apply for an appeal online, to which I am hoping to drop this course so I can take it in the Winter 2022 semester in order to complete my degree. I am also hoping to have the tuition fee returned to me as I never participated in the CHEM285 course and should have had the course dropped over the summer.
My extenuating circumstances include that I was already partaking in 2 summer courses as well as working 2 jobs over the summer, and then in my many attempts to have the course removed on time I was not supported by the university having any of my emails or phone calls returned.
