Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I have been dealing with some family problems this year starting around October. My grandpa became seriously ill so my father the sole care taker of the house had to move back to Taiwan and take care of him. Due to the extra expenses of travelling and medical fees of my grandfather's condition, my parents have not been able to support me financially this year. This has caused me to take up two part time jobs to support myself while balancing a full course load. As well, it was extremely difficult to upkeep my school work since I had to communicate with my parents at odd times due to the time difference, and this became distracting especially when trying to upkeep an open communication during this difficult time. The 15 hour time difference proved to be difficult when trying to speak to each other. Through trying to provide for myself with my two jobs, and communicating with my parents, I suffered greatly in this course in almost every assignment and midterm. I tried my best to balance my course load with my limited time by focussing more on my major than my minor courses, which caused this course to suffer the most. I understand if this medical issue with my grandfather continues to persist, I will be taking a leave of absence from school to prevent me from going through this process in the future.
