Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Dean,

I have had some medical problems throughout the academic year, from Summer 2020 to Fall 2021. I expected to return to Queens without issues, but I have many problems at home. My relatives are quite vexatious and cause issues from the outset, especially for myself and my mother.

I wanted to finish my studies this year to progress in my career. As a result, I am asking for an appeal to help me get control of my study schedule. All the teachers in the Faculty were helpful with insightful discussions. I feel that it would be a letdown not to finish a single course due to extenuating circumstances.

For the last six weeks, I have tended to my elderly mother (92 years old), who has been critically ill due to this crisis. I would have to stay up all night without much help from relatives who made demands or threats for control. Moreover, I could not take my tests for the first time because of hospital obligations and my medical illness atop my family's problems.

My Request: I would like to request to take the special tests as a priority and the Incomplete grade. But, if this is not possible, I ask to drop the course with 'NG' (No Grade) in place, though I would prefer to take the tests.
