Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I had a really unfortunate academic event occur to me: I was added into a prerequisite course at the end of September. In doing so I took on the responsibility of 6 courses, this forced me to catch up a month's amount of content for the CHEM 212 course. At first I could manage the added workload plus the already hectic 5 courses I initially took. Yet, during midterm week I barely managed to get by, and I couldn't forsee the difficulty I had with all the assessments. I even missed my regularly scheduled counselling hours. Mentally speaking I am barely holding on, and I am averaging 2-4 hrs of sleep a day. I almost failed a paper that was relatively easy due to the extrenuating circumstance, and I don't forsee my self passing at least 1 of the 6 courses, with this continued pattern. The day I realised I couldn't keep going on with this schedule was 1 day after the course drop deadline. I really don't think I can continue playing catch up. It is affecting my mental health, my physical health, and my academics. I would like to drop my STATS 263 course.
