Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
My name is Catherine Ashcroft and I am currently a non-degree ASC student at Queen??s. I completed my BScH in the spring of 2020 and am re-enrolled to complete extra undergraduate courses. I am currently enrolled in two classes which I wish to drop past the academic deadline of November 1st. In the past few weeks, my mental health has deteriorated significantly and I have relapsed into my existing mental illnesses severely. In August, I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have been a patient in the Adult Psychiatry program at Hotel Dieu Hospital ever since. The triggers to my OCD have become unbearable and I am unable to complete any school work without constant interruption. I have reached out to both my psychiatrist and my psychotherapist for help regarding these issues in order to continue my courses and both have given me tricks to help ease my mind while I am doing school work. However, none of these tricks have worked and I am still unable to complete my required readings, discussion posts, and essays without immense disruption. These issues have persisted since the beginning of November and I have not been able to find any relief from them.
