Petition Letter: Hello, My name is Kate Anderson and I am hoping to drop two classes after the deadline. On September 21st 2021, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after I was experiencing an extremely fast racing heart, heart palpations and nausea. I was in the hospital for the night and was diagnosed with Supraventricular tachycardia. I stayed at home the following night and then went back to emerge the following day due to experiencing a racing heart once again. I was in emerge for two nights and then emitted into the hospital for another night. Throughout that week I was unable to complete any of my school work due to feeling ill and being in the hospital. The last month and a bit (leading until now) I have been experiencing major insomnia, panic attacks and feeling ill. My Insomnia and panic attacks was brought on by the experience of the health scare that I entailed. This has greatly impacted my ability to complete my schoolwork. I find it extremely challenging to complete school work when I am not receiving adequate sleep and in a very anxious state. Unfortunately, I have also been dealing with depression symptoms since all this started. I have recently began talking medication for this which has also made me feel ill, which is usual when you first start taking antidepressants. Symptoms of dizziness and nausea from the medication have also made it very challenging to keep up with my school work. Lastly I would also like to mention that I have long term accommodations for post-concussion symptoms. My post-concussion symptoms can make it very challenging to complete my school work sometimes. These symptoms include headaches, dizziness and neck pain. Overall, dealing with everything mentioned above has made it extremely difficult to keep up with my studies which is why I would like to drop two of my classes. I wish I had dropped them sooner but I have just been dealing with so much and I did not have the time and energy to do it. I would also like to mention that I have had academic considerations for this since this has all started (since I was in the hospital). The Doctors note that I am using is from that but please let me know if I need a better one. I really hope I am able to drop these two courses without academic punishment.
