Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Bérnard,
I am writing to request a late drop in Econ 320. As you are well aware I have a debilitating shoulder injury and this has been affecting my academics. I thought that I could take on at least one math based course while taking two other courses that are less writing intensive but this has proven difficult to say the least. Unfortunately my shoulder is causing me more problems than I anticipated and with the level of pain I am in I have not been sleeping for days on end. I could not write my midterm for Econ 320 and the pain is too much handle during that type of an exam. My only option is to drop the course because it is better to be proactive and save myself the torture rather than fail again. Loosing time and money, is not ideal but I need to put my health first and I am continuing my efforts to get better. I will of course take my math based courses but only when it will accurately reflect my academic abilities, hopefully I can find a solution for next semester. I have spoken with Jennine and Jeannette and they both agree that this is the best course of action. If you need any further information about my condition and limitations feel free to contact Jeanette in the disabilities services office she can answer any questions you might have. If you have any other concerns you can contact me at any time. Thank you for your time, I really appreciate all your help in this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Baldev Marsh
