Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter as an appeal to drop my current courses CLST 305, and GREK 112 due to an ongoing mental health condition.

This semester, Fall 2021, I have had particularly low moods and suffered multiple panic attacks that have made attending classes and keeping up with my work a difficult task. This in combination with my difficulties focusing has made it extremely hard for me to be successful in my classes.
Recently I have experienced a mental health crisis that resulted in me leaving Kingston and going home. I have been in a constant state of stress and low moods, and my mental health would greatly benefit from dropping two of my current classes.

I have opted to remain in CLST 203 for the remainder of the semester as this course was better matched to my learning styles, and throughout the semester I have been able to keep up with the workload much easier than the other classes. It has not been a source of stress as CLST 305 and GREK 112 are.
