Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: During the covid pandemic, I scheduled several sessions with my health counsellor from EmpowerMe about my current curriculum. I was in a difficult situation of maintaining my courses in good shape, therefore I retake them this year again. One of the courses I didn't expect was CHEM 313, which many CHEM major students took in the fourth year instead of the third year, where they find the labs and the course altogether was too much. I thought I could try and complete this but by the time the midterm grade was released, I realized it is too late to drop the course on time.

Another thing about the course is the fact that if I drop another 300 chem courses, I will not be able to stay in CHEM 397. This is the rule from the CHEM department. I tried so hard to retrieve the permission from Diane, the chem department chair last year and I doubt I can do it again this year. So here I am, trying to apply for the late appeal for the course.
