Petition Letter: Hello Queens Appeal Staff.
My name is Samantha Shaw. I am currently working, online, towards my BA of Psychology, while working a part-time job.
I am also a single parent of 2 children, age 11 and 8.
To be frank, this month, Im drowning in exam prep, coursework that has yet to be completed, and responsibilities as a parent.
I had signed up for 3 classes for the fall semester, as I also work a part-time job while my children are at school, and didn't want to get overwhelmed with a courseload that was too heavy. Despite my best efforts, exactly that has happened. The stress of exam season, assignments that I have yet to be able to complete, on top of needing to keep my children home from school whenever they feel even slightly ill, which has now happened three times in the last month, is started to really effect my own mental health, to the point where my sleep has been strongly effected and I am struggling to even complete basic household tasks the last few days. I do have a therapist and am doing my best to keep afloat of things, but I would really benefit from dropping one of my classes so that I can come out with hopefully at least a decent exam grade for the remaining two classes (one of which is a mandatory class) rather than struggle with all three exams and risk failing one of them, which is a very real risk, with how I have been feeling this last little while.
Regards,
Samantha.
