Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,
I am writing this letter in the hopes that I may drop HIST 353 without academic penalty. Firstly, I'd like to note that this is not the only course for which I have a final assessment - I am well underway my POLS 384 final, and have already completed my final assessment for POLS 211. This was before I developed Covid 19-like symptoms over the past couple of days; a barking/galloping cough, as well as extraneous releases of mass fluid have made me realize my physical inability to complete the 353 final assessment.
Let me state clearly: this is NOT an issue of time management. I have been steadily working on all of my final assessments - however, the strenuous nature of the 353 final is incongruous to my physical condition. 15-20 pages are required for 353, 3-4 pages for both POLS 211 and 384. Under normal circumstances, I would not seek to drop 353, however my physical condition has limited my options. My illness, for which I have booked a Covid-19 assessment and spoken to my family doctor, has severely hindered my ability to work and function. I can finish 3-4 pages in this state, but not 15-20, so I humbly ask for your understanding in this matter. I will provide the test results as they become available.
