Petition Letter: Dear officer,
My name is Jingyi Wang, and my student id is 20155672. I am a junior student in Major Computing. In this term, I have been through some events so I want to apply for this Credit Standing for my course PHIL260.
I want to request my score of PHIL260 could be recorded as Credit Standing. At the start of September, my hometown breakthrough a serious epidemic of COVID-19, so I could not go back to Kingston. I am studying for this term outside Canada, and I have some reasons which lead to my bad performance in this course. During the final exam time, my eyes had a disease, which a small sarcoma grew in it, which caused my eyes very painful and I could not review normally. It was even more sad, due to the prevalence of the COVID-19 epidemic, it was very difficult to make an appointment for the eyes operation in the hospital during that period, the doctors gave me some anti-inflammatory drugs for remission. I had to complete the operation two days after the final exam of PHIL260. It was difficult for me to use my eyes to see normally during exam time, cause my eyes had a great ache, and I tried my best to insist on the whole exam. So I performed really badly in the exam.
And during this semester, my cervical spine was also very uncomfortable. Because of the prolonged online classes, my cervical spine had hyperplasia and straightening of curvature, so I could not move my neck flexibly. I went to the hospital to take a DR, but the doctor did not give me effective advice. Thus I need to go to the hospital for cervical traction continuously, which took up a lot of my study time. All these uncontrolled events made I did not complete this course very well. So I made such an explanation, I hope the school can understand my situation and give me some help.
