Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
In the 2021 fall semester, I caught mononucleosis in November which prevented me from attending class as the illness made me very fatigued and sick which resulting in me being bedridden for nearly the entirety of November and the beginning of December. The reason why I'm requesting an appeal in ENGL 161 is that part of the course mark is attendance, or participation and as a result of my illness I was not able to attend class, and therefore my mark in this section was very poor. this was out of my control and I don't believe that I should be penalized for this. I have supporting documentation confirming my illness, although I only went to the hospital 2 weeks after feeling the effects of my illness (Nov 16). Because of these circumstances, I ask you to change my mark to reflect the situation that I faced.
Thank you.
