Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My exam was online with a multiple-choice component and a written component worth 2/3 of the exam grade, there were specific instructions on how to upload the written answers which I followed to the tea. I received the submission confirmation right as I handed it in, this exam was extremely difficult for me as I did not have any of my accommodations that are now in place and I studied harder than ever to ensure I did well on this exam, I received an email during my break talking about how I never submitted my written answers and had one chance to send it, I sent the email with my answers attached and was told I had to write the deferred exam because I edited my doc after the deadline when in reality if anyone looked at the doc it is clearly visible that I opened the doc to confirm all of my answers were there and sent it nothing was edited, in the doc you can see the difference between last edited and last opened, I am a student that academia does not come easy for and I have to work extremely hard just to pass, I am being punished for a technical error that did not occur on my side and I am confident I am not the only one this has happened to. I was emailing back and forth with the psych 100 coordinator Jenalee and she was of no help and now I am being told that I need to write this differed exam tomorrow at 7 pm and I am assuming I will have to write it as I am submitting this request today but I ask that you reevaluate my situation and not allow this deferred portion which I will be righting with a penalty to count towards my grade as well I would love to discuss further with anyone that can help more than the lack of help I have so far received from queens.
