I am appealing to add a course after the academic deadline. The course I would like to add is BIOL 111. The reason why I was unable to add the course before the academic deadline is that when I went to enroll the course I was placed in the waitlist, this was on Friday January 21. Due to this I dropped the course, but I now see that the course is open and does not have a waitlist so I am interested to see if it is possible that I could enroll in it now. The reason I was late in attempting to enroll in the course was that I was enrolled in GEOL 319 geophysics but I realized that online that course was not for me and that I would rather take it in person next year. To replace GEOL 319 I looked to BIOL 111, having enjoyed taking BIOL 110 last semester as my elective and having great interest in ecology, especially to contrast my geology courses. Yes, I should have been more proactive in changing my courses however the sudden switch to online classes caused me to change my plan at first. I was then sick from the week before classes into the first week of classes and was more focused on recovering from that than school, I made a recovery in the following week. Due to this I was late to realize that a change of courses would be beneficial for this semester. I understand that this is not ideal and that I should have attempted to change courses earlier, but I hope that in these times an exemption can be made. I would love to be able to take BIOL 111 this semester.

Should I be able to enroll in BIOL 111 late I will aim to work hard to catch up on the course material that I would have missed. To help in this I will only be enrolled in 4 courses, making BIOL 111 the fifth course, one course is also only a half credit field course running in the spring. This will mean that if I am able to enroll in BIOL 111 I will only have four courses in the semester to work on, allowing me more time to catch up in BIOL 111. I've chosen to only have four courses as I find online school more difficult and have struggled in the past with it. However if you look at my transcript I hope you would see that I have become a much better student over the years as evidenced by my fall 2021 grades. I would love the opportunity to work hard at BIOL 111 and quickly catch up.
