Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to be registered for ECON243. I was traveling from Singapore to the United States on 22nd and 23rd, and the lack of stable internet connection did not allow for me to check my solus to ensure that everything was going smoothly. I last checked my solus on 21st morning (Singapore time) as previously I was number 2 on the waitlist for ECON243. I had a conflicting lesson (COMM305) which I had kept as a back-up just in case I could not get in the class.

However, on 21st morning when I checked, I was number 1 on the waitlist and hence, decided to drop COMM305 as I believed I would get a spot in the class. After that point I was not able to check SOLUS anymore due to the rush of packing and eventually leaving for my flight. When I finally got settled in and checked my schedule for updates on the morning of 24th January, the 2 classes I was on the waitlist for were removed from my winter class schedule and ECON243 showed to be open.

I immediately emailed Economics Undergraduate Assistance but they said they are not able to help me and directed me towards the appeal section. I had also told the exchange coordinator, Keeley Moloney about the issue and was waiting for her to get back to me before I submitted an appeal. She followed up with the Economics department and they said they are not able to enroll me into the class as well and directed me towards the appeal section.

There was no way I could have known this was going to happen if not I would have emailed them earlier but due to me traveling and the lack of connection, I was unable to do so. Currently, I only have 3 courses and would really appreciate if you were able to help me enroll in this class so that I can translate my courses back to my home university.
