Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My name is Emma Pritchard (20154453) and I am a third year Kinesiology Student. I am writing this appeal tp get KNPE 365 taken off my transcript. I am a hardworking student who does well in school. During the end of the fall semester I had a flair up with my medical condition which caused me to fall behind and unable to complete my exam. Starting December 1st I was in and out of the hospital and mostly bedridden due to my kidney. I had a transplant a few years ago and still continue to have issues with it to this day. On December 1st I found out I had a kidney infection that needed to be treated aggressively. When it got closer to my KNPE 365 exam I spoke to Dr. Lucie Levesque who is the course instructor and she felt that given my exam was worth 60% of my grade that it would make sense to drop the course and have it removed from the transcript. The issues with my kidney went on to effect me until the 29th of December. Dr. Levesque also spoke to Anna Van Der Meulen who also agreed that it would be in my best interest to request an appeal. Being so ill took a toll on me both mentally and physically. I was not only in a severe amount of pain, but also my mental health suffered due to the fear of going back into kidney failure. This is a lot to deal with at 20 years old. I am a hardworking student who has never failed a course before and I think that this course does not show the student that I am.
