Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Mr. O'brien,

I am a 5th-year student at Queens University, and I am appealing to add GLPH 471 (Winter, 2022). I acknowledge that it is very late to join a course but am really hoping I can get approval for this.

I am a current medical school applicant and have received an interview invite at a school that would ultimately need me to take an additional course this semester, otherwise, they will no longer consider me as a candidate. This is a great opportunity that can affect my future career, and it would be devastating for me to be denied this opportunity due to one missing class. I was unaware of this requirement before as the medical school releases the GPA minimum at the time interviews are sent out, and I have received an interview based on the condition that I meet the academic qualifications during my final year at Queens. I'm in a challenging situation here and I hope I can be accommodated.

I have taken the prerequisite for this course (which was GLPH271) and have gotten permission from the instructor to join the course late.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I am confident that I will be able to catch up with the material and assignments that have already been done and have already put thought into some of the course assessments.

I understand that adding another course will require good time management to achieve academic success. I plan on using my current strategies that have worked in the past to stay on top of my work and commitments. This includes making a schedule and following it closely, establishing realistic deadlines for myself to start and complete work, and ensuring that I attain a good work-life balance so that I can maximize productivity while maintaining my health.
