Petition Letter: Dear Appeal Committee,
I would like to please submit an appeal to withdraw from Psyc 100 without an academic penalty and a partial refund. I have struggled with this course since the fall semester. I would also like to mention that I have not taken full advantage of the class as I only participated in three tests (fall & winter tests and the midterm). And have not completed any other assignment.
The final is worth 40% so, I decided to wait until the winter test to see it was still possible to receive a passing grade without completing past assignments. After taking the winter test I decided that it was not realistic for me to pass this course. The best decision was to drop the course before March 4th, however, because I have a sanction block I was and still am unable to drop/ add any courses. I was going to wait until the sanction block was lifted to submit this request however, the reason why I have a sanction block is that my dad is struggling to pay my tuition.
I would like to be completely honest with you, my father works hard to pay for my tuition. We never have the money to pay tuition one time but still manage to pay before the end of the semester. I understand that I can not receive full money back for the course however, anything would help.
I would also like to mention that, the reason why I waited so long to decide to drop the course was that it is a requirement for my degree and I felt extremely guilty for wasting my father's money.
I would greatly appreciate it if this appeal could be granted.
Sincerely,
Paula
