Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, I am requesting to drop the following courses, POLS 250, GPHY 230, HIST 320, and POLS 244. Due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control. I have decided to drop my winter courses. This is by far a different situation compared to other years. I spoke with Arunima Khanna. For the past few months during the 2022 academic term, (from about mid January to now), I have been suffering from both suicidal ideation and extremely low mood. Following week seven, I came close to attempting before someone stopped me. The reason why this has come later is because I was waiting for the documentation, and also recovering with regular counselling from Student Wellness survices. This has resulted me to remain absent from my courses and not complete work. I am working to get better and am planning to do both cognative behevoural therapy and other programs. I beleive that taking this time off will help me heal from this traumatic experience and improve myself to be ready for the 2022-2023 academic year. For my personal safety, I believed it was in my best interest to withdraw from academic studies until this sepetemeber.
