Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I have had what I believe to be depression for a long time now, however, this year I seem to hit rock bottom. Before, I still struggle to keep up with my schoolwork but managed to get everything done; the same cannot be said for this term. I have been in extremely low moods that have stopped me from attending lectures, labs, and even keeping up with the online coursework. I have failed multiple tests and even easy assignments because of my genuine inability to even start them. I have always been a straight A student, so my grades are a very poor representation self. This is when I knew that I finally need to get help because I did not want to fail out of school for something that I cannot control. Mental health services/resources have not been easy for me to access so I am glad that I took the first steps to get help. I sought out help by talking with the mental health nurse through SWS and have scheduled an appointment to get tested.
