Petition Letter: Hello,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing in the hope of dropping the 2021 fall term ECON250 Introduction to Statistics course. I am requesting this because the final exam that was supposed to take place last December was deferred to the 2022 winter term exams season in April.
For context, due to the university's emergency closure in mid-December last year, my ECON250 exam was deferred to later in mid-January. The January exam was meant to be taken remotely through Examity. However, due to technical problems with the Examity proctors, my first attempt at taking the online exam ended in failure; and on my second attempt, the exam was accidentally submitted prematurely due to miscommunication between me and the proctor. As a result, my exam was deferred once again to April. Given my current workload, it has become increasingly challenging for me to prepare for the twice-deferred exam, and I believe the ultimate result from the exam would not reflect my actual academic standing. Therefore, I wish to drop this incomplete course altogether.
Given that I have to prepare for an exam with the content from last year and the current incomplete status my unofficial transcript is showing about ECON250, I believe my request to drop the course is justified.
