Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I have a medical situation that began in March and had become increasingly difficult to cope with. It has gravely impacted both my physical and mental health and has made it difficult to participate in everyday activities as well as perform well in my academics.

I have had a difficult time making it to class and completing coursework, still, I tried my best to hurdle through.

Now that things have become worse my doctor and I decided it would be best for me to return home as soon as possible so that I could seek out medical care/counselling. I am also working alongside social workers at the Ban Righ centre for women, and I'm planning on completing my courses online next year.

I provided a doctor's note to BIO 103. The team from Biology 103 however, has been taking weeks to provide an answer on whether or not I can be accommodated, which is worrisome considering how close exams now are. Unfortunately, I do not think they are willing to accommodate me, and I need to do what is best for my health before things become worse. I am hoping I will be granted permission to drop this course.
