Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am asking for aegrotat standing in MATH 121, as a chain of events has occurred in the last couple days that has prevented me from being able to fully prepare for the end of the course. As a student which already struggles with post concussion syndrome and anxiety these extenuating circumstances have greatly affected me. Firstly my dad tested positive for COVID 19. This caused a lot of uncertainty in my house and fear around the virus as we are the primary care givers to my immunocompromised grandparents. My brother then got in a very severe car accident. He was charged and as he is only 17, my family has been struggling with how to support him in this. He was driving my grandad's car who was just recently in the hospital and he was not insured on the car, so now that it is written off we need to finically strategize on how to replace it. As you can imagine this has caused so much stress and is pretty traumatizing. On top of that my brother struggles with severe depression and other mental health issues. This accident has brought on his suicidal behaviours. When he is in this state its hard to sleep at night and all your energy goes into ensuring he remains safe. This has caused an immense amount of stress in the recent week and has led to a very hard environment to focus on my schooling. All of this on top of what the typical student deals with has caused me to be extremely overwhelmed. I am reaching out to you for help. I hope you will consider my case and grant my plea for aegrotat standing.
