Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
During the last week of the winter semester, I had been very sick and had to miss the whole week of classes in the possibility that my illness was covid. For four days straight, I had tested negative and continued to complete my course assignments despite battling symptoms, but on the fifth day, I tested positive. The specific day was on April 8, the last day of classes, and I had completed several course assignments which were due on that day and went to sleep because of extreme fatigue. As a result, I slept through the deadline for the ENG 162 quiz, and emailed my professor as soon as I realized, but he said the quiz could not be reopened at that point.
As you can imagine, this was greatly disappointing to hear as I had really pushed myself to get my work done despite the difficulty of doing so with covid, only to get a zero on a quiz that I missed because of exhaustion. If possible, it would be greatly appreciated if my final exam on Thursday, April 21 could be re-weighted to account for these circumstances.
Thank you
