Petition Letter: Hello, This semester has without a doubt been the most challenging and psychologically difficult semester of school which I have had in my life. I have struggled with a tragedy in the family early on in the semester which has made it extremely hard to focus and stay motivated during scholarly activities. The change from online learning to in-person learning without the clarity of what is where was also extremely detrimental as I have failed the course (earning a lower mark than 63%) due to many problems with the semester but specifically if I had received the marks for my pop quiz questions which are simply to ask a question to the TA, then my mark would be good enough to pass. The reason I did not get a mark for these questions was due to them being given out at the strict minute that class begins and me not knowing where to go as I have never had an in-person class in the building or had a tour of the campus in my life, I arrived 5-7 minutes late and was not informed by my TA that the pop questions were open. This semester with, the constant sickness around my household, all of the constant changes, and tragedy that has psychologically scarred me for life should hopefully allow for me to be able to pass this course, as I worry that if I am not able to, may have extremely detrimental results on my health and mental well being. I strongly believe that the situations which occurred were beyond my control and that I gave the course my all considering all that has happened throughout this difficult semester. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
