Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,
I hope this letter finds you well,
To be quite honest, this semester hasn't exactly been a smooth ride for me. I understand everyone has personal circumstances, but it just so happened that lot of things occurred in a short period of time. A family member recently fill sick with Covid and, unfortunately, this triggered other health problems that have been difficult to deal with to say the least. At this point, I need to drop this core class in particular, as it is one I had already been facing difficulty with and my extenuating circumstances have been draining me. I am not in the right state of mind to be able to perform and end this semester with this class. My mind has been very clouded and I must put handling these situations and myself as a priority over consuming myself with this course currently. I can't afford to hold this course and not drop it now. Of course, as anyone should, I have researched a plan B for dropping this course, and I am confident that there are cushions to this minor blow with regards to my academic career later on. This makes me feel a bit better with having to drop. I hope for your thorough consideration on this matter, and I thank you in advance for taking the time to understand my situation. I don't know what type of documentation you may need at this stage, I will ask my family to provide something to support my case if needed. Thank you for considering, this would really help me. Any supporting documentation needed will be sent directly by email, as it has been hectic and my family will obtain it for me.
