Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am appealing for an extension of an IN grade for PSYC 241. Dr. O??Connor let me know the final exam for PSYC 241 will be rescheduled to May 12-15 during the deferred exam period for the winter term, as I was unable to write the exam during both the regular and deferred exam periods in the fall term.
Due to illness resulting from a chronic health condition, I was unable to take the exam during the initial exam period on December 18th, 2021. I spoke with my QSAS advisor at Queen??s Health and Wellness about my LOA, which provides me with 7-day and 14-day extensions due to disability. I appealed to the Arts and Science office and was granted permission to take my exam during the deferral period.
Unfortunately, I became sick on Dec. 20th and found out on Dec. 23rd that I had contracted Covid-19. Coupled with my underlying health condition, I was severely ill for many weeks. The Arts and Science office granted me academic consideration for the period of Dec. 23rd- Feb. 8th. As a result of Covid-19, I was unable to take my deferred exam in January of 2022.
I am requesting that I take my exam for PSYC 241 during the Winter term deferral period and that I receive an extension of an IN grade on my transcript.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Colleen.
