Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, hope all is well. Due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control, my academic work was impacted this year. During the 2021 Fall semester, I was dealing with serious health issues and was approved by the university to extend my coursework into the Winter Semester. My health issues are ongoing but have become mild and a lot more manageable, thankfully. In the Winter Semester, I advised the academic office of a family member who unfortunately passed away from covid and other complications. I was able to complete most of my courses during the month of April but I still need more time to complete the remaining work for 2 courses (GNDS215 and DEVS280). My professors from both courses advised they approve of me submitting the assignments in the next couple of weeks and I wanted to ask if this is possible from your end. I kindly request if you can approve this accommodation so I can submit the work that I am working so hard to complete and making sure it doesn't impact my grades. I am so very thankful for my professors and the DEVS advisor who have been helping me with this process. I apologize for the extra trouble and hope you can approve for me to get the work done this month so all course work will be completed and graded. Thank you so much for your time and support.
