Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Hello, my name is Aabha Chindarkar, I am a third-year Sociology and Film and Media medial student here at Queen's. This past winter term has been really difficult for me and my mental health. I have been depressed and anxious, my mental health has made it impossible for me to function and perform my day-to-day activities, even things like showering or answering emails have been difficult during this time period. I fell behind on my assignments and academic responsibilities due to this. At the end of the winter term, my mental health declined to its lowest point, my roommate had to take me to the Emergency Room at Kingston General Hospital. Upon being evaluated there, the hospital put me in an intensive therapy program at Hotel Dieu. I have been slowly but surely trying to get back on track with my life, but my academics still suffered due to this, which is why I wanted to appeal for a late drop for two of my courses this semester. The courses are SOCY 275 and SOCY 276. I am a good student who is excited to learn and grow at Queen's, I want to excel at this institution, and I hope to still achieve that. I accept full and complete responsibility for failing to live up to my academic standards and I promise to utilize this opportunity to continue my education and excel at it.
