Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting an extension of an incomplete grade on the course HIST 109 because of extenuating circumstances beyond my control. In the beginning, I enjoyed the course and was passionate about its contents. Unfortunately, I became involved in a highly abusive relationship which caused me to get diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I was affected by it from March 2022 all the way till now when I am still recovering. Finding the passion to write was very hard because I always had other things at the back of my mind. I had a lot of mood swings and on top of that, I had a lot of emotional stress and co-dependency on my ex-partner. I am confident that I can complete the outstanding work in this class during the Summer term. I am out of a toxic relationship and getting the therapy I need to move forward. I will be submitting my diagnosis shortly. Thank you for your patience.
