Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

I'm writing in the hopes that the university will allow my only course from the winter term to be removed from my transcript, so I may confer on June 1st. Currently my GPA is 1.58, and dropping this course would allow me to graduate. My time since the pandemic started has been difficult, and I have been struggling over the last two years with being able to dedicate myself to my studies. My family lives abroad, and I haven't been able to visit them since the beginning of the pandemic due to financial and health risk reasons. Being so isolated and alone, attempting to do anything began to feel impossible. Still, I gave it my all when it came to work, including my time as a Residence Don for Queen's Residence Life. I know that I haven't done well, however my new chapter in my life starts this June, as I was able (after many long months of searching and applying) to secure a job in what truly makes me motivated and excited. But I need to graduate in June as planned. My GPA is 0.02 away from being able to humbly accept my BA and allow me to begin the next stage of my life. Please find it in you to give me a chance to start off right after university. I wasn't able to be the best version of me completely throughout my time at Queen's, grant me the chance to do so in my my next life steps now.
