Appeal Letter

Appeal Letter: I have been struggling with my mental health issues most of my life and trying my best to keep them in control and ensure that I am doing okay. I have been taking medication for my anxiety and depression for three years, roughly at the beginning of 2019. My first year of university was the best thing that ever happened to me, and that was the first time I saw myself being happy in an environment where I could thrive. I was trying hard not to let my anxiety and depression take control, but it is not something that ever goes away. Although the year as a whole was challenging for me. I didn't specify in the appeal the fall term was as difficult for me because an incident that I didn't feel comfortable writing about triggered my depression while I was at school. The incident had happened before I decided to come off my medication and start meeting with a therapist to help me cope with it. I am very hard working, and my grade in PSYC 100 is not a fair grade due to what I have been going through; looking at that grade makes me extremely sad, not because I care about my grades but because I know that the grade is not me, and the work I put into that class is not me.

New Information: I agreed with the Dean when they said my grade in PSYC 100 was poorly in the fall term as well as the winter term. My poor grades in the fall term were due to an incident that had happened to me in mid-September of 2021. This incident deeply affected my mental health and triggered my depression and anxiety to be worse, and it was a challenging situation for me to cope through.
