Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am requesting an appeal due to my poor performance during my exam, during the last weeks of the winter term I fell ill, due to Covid-19 which forced me to stay at home for an extended period of class time (minor symptoms from the 29th of May to the 2nd of April, severe symptoms from the 2nd of April to the 11th of April, minor symptoms on the 12th of April, (minor symptoms include low fever, chills and headache, sever symptoms include high fever, chills large migraine and vomiting)). Covid left me with very little energy to do much of anything, I had a constant migraine, fever, chills, and vomiting. As I am not in the health care sector, I didn??t receive a PCR however, I was living with my sister who is a nurse and her boyfriend who also works in the hospital, I caught Covid a few days after them and so was living with two people who had confirmed positive PCR tests (as shown). Due to Covid I had very small windows of productivity and had a hard time focusing on anything, this led to suboptimal and minimal studying as I was bed bound for most of the time, I had Covid. This also led to me not being able to see the final lectures causing me to have to rely on nothing other than notes and Kahn academy for the topics in the final weeks of class time as this illness caused me to miss my final classes. I, therefore, had little to no time to study Math in specific and had to teach myself the end of term material. This led to me doing test 3 for math online at home while very sick and I ended up receiving a less than ideal mark, however, I primarily suffered the consequences of my sickness during my exam as a lack of time to prepare and not properly studying (due to missing the end classes) led to a mark which is severely below the rest of my term marks in this course (even the test I took while sick as I had been prepping for that test before I fell ill). As I was unable to receive a PCR, I have submitted a PCR which confirmed my roommate??s sickness at the same time which proves I was in a Covid positive environment and below I have her phone and email if further contact is needed.
