Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am requesting an appeal to drop the HLTH 101 class after the drop deadline. I had good intentions and a strong interest in the course but unforeseen circumstances presented themselves in my life situation. As a strong voice in my rural community for (ironically) healthcare reform, I decided to run in the provincial by-election in New Brunswick as a candidate. There were no strong candidates in the area and I needed to give it a shot to improve the situation we are in. This was not planned and the work involved ended up being mentally and physically challenging - especially as a mother of two young children on top of my job. I am now very burnt out and very behind in the class and am not certain I can catch up - with still a week left in the election. I am requesting an appeal to drop without financial penalty so I can retake the same or similar course at a later date when I can give it my all.
