Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My name is Shiranthi Crystol and my student number is 20267247. I am writing this letter in hopes for the course DEVS 100 A&B ?? Canada and the ??Third World? to be taken off my transcript as it is affecting my overall GPA. During the fall 2021, I was taking three courses while working full-time. It was during this semester where I had an unexpected death in my family. Attached to this file is a death certificated from the funeral home, which I had also provided to all my professors during that semester, asking for an extension on my assignments.
It was a very difficult time for me, as I had taken on the role to help coordinate the funeral for my family. By the time the semester was over, I did not do well on the final at all and somehow managed to complete the other two courses with a grade level ??B?. The following semester, I remained in DEVS 100 while grieving the loss of my family member. I was very depressed during this time and was also dealing with a relocation at my work. A lot was happening for me during the winter 2022 and I was having a difficult time with the changes that were occurring around me. I do regret not putting enough emphasis in this course as I was doing well in the beginning. After some time, I decided to take one course during the summer to motivate me back to doing well and I have been able to maintain a ??B-?.
I am kindly asking you to please grant my petition as my grades for my other courses are in good standing and would like to finish my undergraduate degree and in hopes of being full-time in the History Program.
