Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,
Good morning,
I have carefully drafted this email to address my absence in the winter semester for the academic year of 2022. My absence not only disappointed Queen??s but myself the most. I have been studying virtually for 2 years now and have found that I have lost the sense of closeness or in other words the connection most have on campus. This loss of connection put me into a deep state of depression where I could not fonder a purpose or even find a meaning behind continuing my education. I had to accept that due to Covid I am not able to return to campus. Despite all odds I should seek help at least for myself, to prosper and grow as an individual, to not lose myself in this game of life. As an individual that has been mentally hospitalized 10 times I cannot begin to explain the extreme amount of pain I feel in my emotional sector for the loss of time. I had indeed lost so much time drowning in sorrow due to having an extreme condition that had prevented me from accomplishing a single goal that another individual can accomplish with ease. Everyday I look in the mirror I see a girl full of dreams turned into a mentally disabled patient. This has truly broken my spirits of one day becoming a presidential employee. But we must continue and try our bests in hope that society will accept us and support our dreams. I am currently seeking mental help from a world renown doctor. I have been visiting him monthly and taking my medication daily. Although, I feel as though this isn??t enough to be an apology. I give you my highest respected apology that I as a Queen??s student cannot face failure again. I would highly appreciate your help this time in accommodating me with academic accommodations and possibly some utilities for disabled students. This will assist in completing my academic year successfully. I am currently waiting my doctors report but I thought I should send an appeal letter first in order to not miss the deadline. Thank you for your time and for your efforts in growing the Queen??s student bodies characters at most.
Kind regards,
Aaleen Baig
