Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: On May 24th, a domestic situation occurred which has caused me to be displaced since then. This situation has been incredibly taxing and I??ve been unable to work on academics consistently. During this time, I have been moving back and forth between family, not able to find anywhere long term at the moment. I spoke to my doctor regarding the psychological toll the situation has taken on me, to try and bounce back, but unfortunately I??m still dealing with the many stressors of this situation and ultimately, am unable to allocate time for academics.

I have had to pick up additional work shifts to financially support my mother and I during this time, moving back and forth between places and shouldering the stress of this situation for my family. This has had a huge effect on my mental health as well.

After getting an update on this situation a couple of days ago from the victim/witness assistance program, I've found out I may be displaced for an additional 12 weeks, which takes up the entirety of the fall semester unfortunately. I've tried my best to allocate as much time as possible to complete the course work and learn material but it is simply not possible for me at this time. I will supply supporting documentation by the end of the day, thank you.
