Petition Letter: This appeal letter is written to request an extension of the 21-day deadline of September 15th of 2022. I would like to appeal for extended incomplete courses as a result of extenuating circumstances that lead to my inability to complete my regular full-time studies.
This letter is written to explain why I was unable to submit an appeal within the period of the 21-day deadline. Unfortunately, due to a medical health extenuating circumstance, I was not physically capable of writing or contacting the school to request an appeal for my studies following the end of the semester in which I was working on IN courses. I am writing this letter as my health condition has improved to where my healthcare team and I believe I will be physically capable of completing my studies at Queen??s University.
The specific extenuating circumstance that rendered me incapable of submitting an appeal by the deadline of September 15th was a medical condition and health challenges beyond my control. These included symptoms of trouble concentrating physical pain, insomnia, and the inability to provide self-care and complete activities of daily living without assistance. These specific challenges lead me unable to complete the appeal process for extended IN prior to September 15th of 2022. Working with my healthcare team, there has been a revision to my medications and regular counseling and follow-up appointments with my family physician and naturopathic primary care physician in attempt to deal with my academic extenuating circumstance.
If my appeal to receive an extension past the 21-day deadline of the end of semester (September 15th) is approved, I plan to submit an appeal to extend the IN of my final courses at Queen??s University. Fortunately, I have contacted all instructors regarding my personal health situation, and they are all supportive of me appealing for an IN.
